“As the title of the first track suggests, I've 'Never Been to New Orleans.' However, the music coming out of that rich melting pot has inspired me greatly. It started in the mid '70s with the Dr. John album In the Right Place. The mix of styles, the grooves, the arrangements, and most importantly, Dr. John's cool and funky piano playing, all made a big impact on me as an aspiring musician. In 2025, half a century later, the idea came to make an album of original songs inspired by some of my New Orleans heroes. The title FEELGOOD reflects the essense of how it felt playing and recording these songs. I'm wishing to pass that feeling along to the listeners.”
